I've always had my opinions, but nobody really cared. Well as a teenager, who would care about my opinions, unless there were about clothes, school projects or some other trivial matter. Who really cares? I joined the debate team and our middle school toastmasters team. We talk about important matters, like eminent domain, animal testing, nasa funding and important matters of that sort. However the topics I love the most seem to be the least favorite of other club members. Their favorite topics are silly trivial ones like Universal Currency ( Universal currency will be the start of WW3... bad idea- why even discuss? There are so many economical reasons to oppose this idea... i can't even fathom why ANYBODY would call this a good idea worth discussing when there are so many more important issues to talk about) and Twilight vs Hunger Games ( HG definitely ;) Debate this year wasn't very fun... Last year, when i was in 7th grade, other club members were much more intellectual than this year...but I hope High School Debate will be much better considering that a much higher time commitment is required, so only serious members will join. I liked Toastmasters much better, although we talked about trivial things, we learned HOW to talk and i feel as if our talks are much more deep. I learned more about my peers that i have through small talk. It is somewhat difficult to talk about your hobbies, habits and deep desires through small talk. I loved Toastmasters and the only advice I could give to the school was to add more meetings ( It was the first time this was offered in my school so they wanted input... for me it was perfect ) One thing that I will never forget about toastmasters is what the organizer told us.
FEAR. False Expectations Appearing Real
Wow. How true...
We learned how to know whether or not an audience was interested in our words, how to read body language and many more important things. I can only hope that I will be able to properly use these tips and make the most out of these tips.
I hope that when reading this blog, I hope you can see me in it. I will never tell you my name ( although I bet you can find out ) I will never say small things such as my favorite color, where I live etc, etc. But I know that you will be able to see me for me. I am not going to email this link to any of my friends but hope, if you accidently stumble upon you will maybe see the more hidden side of yourself in here. I feel everyone has two different sides to them. One, must be the one they present to society the other one, however, i feel is their REAL personality. I want people to see the REAL me in this blog, and I hope they can find the REAL them
